HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday sent his condolences to Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva on the loss of lives and property damage caused by floods.
In the messages, the monarch expressed his deep sadness after learning about the loss of lives during the floods in several southern provinces. His Majesty extended his deepest condolences to King Bhumibol and the people of Thailand at this time of bereavement and personal loss of the people of Thailand, especially those affected by the disaster.
The sovereign also said that his government and the people of Brunei joined him in expressing their sincere condolences to the government and people of Thailand, bereaved families and those affected by the floods.
Flooding across Thailand has killed more than 100 people and damaged over three per cent of the country's agricultural land, according to Thailand's Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.
