The Royal Regalia Building
The Royal Regalia Building was officially opened on 30 September 1992 by His Majesty PadukaSeri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
This building displays a large number of the Royal Regalia that had been inherited from generation to generation, as glorious symbol of the Brunei Darussalam Government.
The building consists of four galleries:-
1. Royal Regalia (Coronation, 1968)
· Royal Chariot on which His Majesty rode enthroned during the Royal Procession.
· Other regalia displayed include items that accompanied the Royal Chariot during the Royal Procession:
Changkah (a huge two-pronged spear), 40 Sinipit (decorated spears) & 40 Taming (decorated shields)

· Nobat Diraja (Royal Orchestra): 1 Nakara (drum),Gendang Labik(another kind of drum), 1 Serunai (oboe), 2 Gongs & 1 Canang (a second kind of gong)
· 16 Tombak Benderangan (spears plated in gold)
· 8 Dian Alam Bernaga (Special candles)
· 40 Payong Berwarna (multicoloured umbrellas):
8 kuning (yellow), 8 putih (white), 8 hijau (green), 8 hitam (black) & 8merah (red)

· 8 Payong Dadu (chequered umbrellas)
· 40 Payong Kawan (another kind of chequered umbrellas)
· 16 Lembing Kerajaan (royal spears) & 16 Taming (decorated shields)
· 8 Lembing Tembaga (brass spears) & 8 Taming (decorated shields)
· 8 Lembing Perak (silve spears) & 8 Taming (decorated shields)
· 4 Pedang Kerajaan (royal swords) & 4 Perisai (royal shields)
· 4 Puan Kerajaan (royal vases)
· 4 Tarian Kerajaan (royal silver betel boxes)
2. Royal Exhibition Gallery
This area briefly documents the life history of His Majesty Paduka Seri BagindaSultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam from childhood days up to the time of his coronation.
A combination of photographs are also exhibited such as performing the pilgrimage to Mecca and the delivery of a sermon during the Hari Raya Aidil Fitriat the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque on 5 April 1992.
The Royal Regalia displayed in this area are :
· Patarana ( a replica of the throne at the Lapau)

· Mahkota (Crown of Raja Isteri)
· Keris Sinaga (ther kris, a wace edger dagger named Sinaga)
· Tongkat Ajai (golden hand)
· Kuching Emas (golden cat)
· Chogan Istiadat (ceremonial mace)
· Chogan Ugama (religious mace)
· Pedang Tersula ( a kind of sword)
· Perhiasan Tunggal : Payong Diraja ( a royal umbrella, Pedang ( a royal shield), Perisai Tunggal ( a royal sword), Tombak Tunggal (a royal spear) & Kaskol (a royal betel-casket)
· Pemuras (decorated traditional gun) & Karga (bullet case)
· Kelasak (a kind of shield) & Kampilan (doouble-tipped sword)
· 2 Pesigupan Emas (golden pipes)
· 4 Keris Kerajaan (royal krises)
· 16 Kabok (silver jars with lids) & 16 Penastan (silver dishes)
· Pakaian yang dipakai oleh pembawa Alat Kebesaran Diraja (Costumes of bearers of the Royal Regalia)
· Singgahsana (a replica of the throne at the Lapau)
· Pakaian Diraja semasa Istiadat Perpuspaan (Royal costumes worn during the Coronation)
· Kasur Namat (Royal cushion)
· Kerusi Singgahsana (The Royal Chair)
· Puja (the words uttered after the crowning of the Sultan)
· Doa Puspa (prayer read during the Coronation Ceremony)
3. Silver Jubilee Gallery
The Silver Jubilee Gallery chronicles the historic Silver Jubilee celebration of His Majesty Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddinWaddaulah Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam's ascension to the throne on 5 October 1992. Models, dioramas, photographs, objects and videos are combined to document among others:
· The Audience Ceremony at the Istana Nurul Iman
· The Royal Carriage used during the Royal Procession and the accompanying Royal Regalia
· A replica Pemajangan (the decorative structure erected at the main entrance area of the palace. During the royal function, the structure adorned with various types of royal banners and insignia)
· Gifts and souvenirs presented to His Majesty by local and foreign dignitaries, the people of Brunei ministries, private organisations, educational institutions and individuals
